I recently upgraded to a D700 and my old tripod isn't sturdy enough for it. I am looking for something that is small, light and does not break the bank. I am looking at the 190CXPRO4. Do any of you use it (or something similar) with a D700? What would be the biggest lens I could use it with? I cannot imagine ever needing anything larger than a 70-200. Any help is appreciated!

Then when you upgrade to a D800 in a few years you will have to buy better tripod.

Follow this advice and save yourself some money in the long run.

I've been using the same Gitzo tripod for about a decade and cannot foresee ever needing to upgrade it. Although tripods are large, they are not heavy when compared to a bag of lenses. The 190CXPRO4 looks far to flimsy to be of much use.
