DxO as expected 100%
Apr 19, 2012

So basically Canon low ISO iamge quality is left back in 2007 still. What a shame! And a shame they crippled the video a bit (no zebras, focus peaking or truly crisp 2x2 300-liked sampled 1.6x crop 1920x1080 video mode) and autoiso (ridiculous limit on max min shutter speed). Other than that the camera is amazing. SO why Canon??

THeir marketing just want to do silly video protectionsim that will backfire and to milk out more on old sensor fabs while they get left behind (AND raise the price $800).

Even the new non-Exmor sensors blow Canon sensors away for dynamic range. So Exmor patents is not an excuse.

All they can do is improve one bit and hold back or cripple another. That is how you make more money for a few months but slowly lose all teh faith of your customer base.

On the plus side they did improve SNR by 2/3rds of a stop and are now tied for best ever with D800/D4/D3s (although Canon had to cheat a little by making sensor more color blind than the Nikons....). THis is pretty big.
