I too highly recommend the 100mm non L macro. The add-on lenses do enable mcro photography with non-macro lenses but, losing infinity focus means that you have a very small area in which the lens will focus such as from 1" to 5" from the front of the lens which is a royal PIA. Note the measurements above are made up but representative. The exact measurements depends on the lens used and the strength of the add-on lens.
