I have read that the canon 100-400L is susceptible to fungus do to it's push-pull design. Is there a method to prevent the fungus from collecting; perhaps a wipe down of a 5 percent bleach/water solution? I just purchased this lens and I'm using it in Brazil this week extensively. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

If you're there for only a week then I wouldn't worry about it at all. It can take years for fungus to form and grow inside a lens.
