Nikon's reply to D800 LCD
Apr 18, 2012

I just got a reply back from Nikon regarding the LCD issue on the D4 and D800. What does everyone think?

Thank you for your report. Regarding the questions you have about the LCD color, D4 and D800 monitors will display a more faithful reproduction of white and colors visible with the naked eye when compared to earlier models such as the D3-series or D700.

As the display color temperatures were slightly higher with the D3-series / D700 monitor, monitor display appeared slightly bluish.

Therefore, monitor display may appear more yellow with the D4 or D800 in some scenes.

The D4 and D800 monitors have been developed to produce more faithful colors defined by the sRGB color space.

Thank you,
