Fair points - it's just that I like Capture NX2 because it gives me an acceptable starting point that I can refine rather than having to start from scratch. Maybe not for the XPro1, but the appeal of the X100 is to have a reduced workflow and I question whether the benefits of developing RAW in this way is worth it for me taking into account how good the jpeg output is.
