To me, the Nikkor 24-70 is the no-brainer choice. I also have the 50mm f/1.4g, and I have a lot of fun with that lens and its big aperture, but, as is well known by now, its focus is slow. Not only does the 24-70 focus fast, but it just hits its target just about every time (and you're probably well aware of how nice that is with the 14-24).
Get the 24-70 first, and then the 50 1.4 later. I think you should have more than enough ISO to give to get that shutter up there with the zoom's f/2.8.
(I do not have a D800, but a D4.)
