Vivitar Series 1 lenses were okay back then as it was a cheap alternative for OEM lenses. I used one on my Minolta camera which is long gone.
Some of the old Vivitar Series 1 lenses were better than just okay. The 90/2.5 macro I own was the sharpest lens of it's day years ago. Today it proves to be a remarkable performer on my DSLRs.
