Color Saturation & Pixel Density
Apr 17, 2012

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos5dmarkiii/12

From the above page (RAW comparison)

1. Select Canon 5D3, Nikon D4, Nikon D800 and Nikon D700.

2. Put the rectangle on the angel blowing trumpet just below red MARTINI logo.

3. Compare the color saturation of cloth the angel is wearing in each ISO.

You'll find the color saturation of yellow cloth in the following decreasing order of D700, D4, 5D3, D800 which incidentally is the order of increasing pixel count. It seems that color saturation is inversely correlated with pixel count. To say it in other word the higher the pixel density is more desaturated is the color. Do you think it is coincidence? I believe it is not as I have observed color desaturate as the pixel density increases.

Decision, decision, we are the slaves of decisions we made inadvertently.

May God forgive us our imperfections!

Dust to dust, what on earth are we entitled to claim?
