What quick tests to run on an 18-50?

Since in my infinite wisdom I decided not to get the 18-50 with my C3 for an extra $100, and in my last trip I realized my need for a walk around zoom (sometimes is too annoying to switch primes). I am thinking about picking a cheap one up off the local craigslist type site to last me till the G-zoom arrives.
My question is what tests could I try in a few minutes to test that the lens is OK when meeting with the buyer?
All I can think of is mount it on my C3 and see if it will autofocus ok at different focal ranges, take a few shots then zoom on the c3 screen and see if the image is sharp, turn OSS on and off and see if it makes a difference on the live view screen.
Do you guys know any other tests that I could run?
