Feeding the printmaterial at a perfect straight angle is indeed most important.

With canvas front feed is required. In the front feeder the first edge of the material is sensed by the printer. If the paper canvas is feeded at a different angle than 90 ' the paper sensors get a different idea of print media dimension. The media dimension sensor overrules paper size set in software. Thus s if paper is not feeded at straight angle the output image will be cropped.

Even with this knowledge it is still darn difficult to get an uncropped print from the frontfeeder.
