Shooting video whilst riding a bike

I'm going to be going on holiday soon and I'd like to try and take some moving footage to try and show a sort of 'travel through' of some of the locations. Walking isn't very good because I can't take any sort of steady cam setup due to limits in weight/size with luggage. And without that the footage I've tried always looks a little too shaky for my liking.

Anyway, I've had the idea of shooting video whilst cyclying. If I get a reasonable bit of speed going and then coast I figure I can ride nice and smoothly. But, what I'm wondering is how best to support the camera. My initial idea is just to have it attached to me, cycle up to speed and then simply handhold it using the handlebar as a support.

Has anyone on here tried shooting video whilst riding a bike? How did you do it? What would be the best way to go about doing this?
