Has the SDM failures been dropping off lately?

My 60-250 was repaired last summer and worked perfectly at the venice carnivale (when my 16-50 expired - now fixes ) - would not focus on the K-5 on Sunday, at all - even 'borrowed' a K-7 to check it wasn't the camera - manual focus didn't work, and AF on the Z-1 wouldn't even turn the lens.... I was distraught - then the jeweller's screwdriver came to the rescue.....
