If you like your forty hour work week and your paid vacation and your sick days and your environmental safeguards and your seven year old child not behind the loom sixteen hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty five days a year, thank a union member next time you see one. They did all the work for you and got their heads cracked for their troubles back in the day.

The rich and the nobility both old and new are endlessly greedy and will grind up and spit out workers every chance they get, as they have thoughout human history.
Non union winds up like this:

I simply meant... the typical factory in North America is a unionized one vs non unionized Japan / China ..etc. - Good or bad, that camera would cost an incredible amount of money. .......

On the other hand ....
If you think we have QC issues now ......... roflmao

@Nightwings: You're completely wrong about the cost. Next time do your research.

"According to the Times, building the iPhone stateside would add up to $65 to the cost of each device. To put that in perspective, it's about 10% of the full retail price for the cheapest iPhone 4S."

I don't see any reason the cost of building cameras should be radically different.

It's not the cost, it's the "speed & flexibility" of their manufacturing sector.

If I'm being cynical, I'd say that given your stance on unions, you probably wouldn't trust anything written in the Atlantic or the NYT. Maybe I can find you something from the National Review...
