Telephoto zoom lens for Toddle Photography?

Hi All,

I currently running a 60D with a Sigma 17-50 F2.8 EX HSM (plus a Canon 50 F1.4)

The Sigma in particular has been great (IMHO) and I have loved the results.

However, as the little one is starting to get on the move and is becoming more and more aware of the camera, it's time for me to get something with some more reach.

Ideally I would love to but the new 70-200 F2.8 but at over 2K (AUD), it's probably a stretch budget wise. I am aware that this lens comes in various forms, but I have used F2.8 so much to date, that I am hesitant to get an F4 or similar lens.

I could get the original 70-200 F2.8 L series if someone if they still sell it, but would that be a wise investment, given it has already been superseded?

Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

Cheers.

Canon EOS 60D
