I agree about backing up, I do that weekly. I used to have my drives set up in RAID but a fan for a chip on my old motherboard died and blew the MB. I couldn't get a replacement as it was outdfated and had to rebuild the comuter and thus could not salvage the data on the drives so they had to be reformatted. That's why I now backup every week but in the past when I got those errors and tried to copy back to the C drive it didn't work. That's why I clone the C/F driveand now need to clone back over them.

Why was your data lost if all you lost was the MB?

At the time I was told that I needed the exact MB that the Raid was set up on in order to be able to read the data on the drives. Maybe I was given wrong information.
