X-S1 Sharpness setting?
Apr 10, 2012

I've been playing around with the sharpness settings in CS5 for my X-S1 images as they never seem sharp enough. With all my old cameras and lenses I have the Unsharp Mask set at:

Amount: 100
Threshold: 0.3
Radius: 3

I've always found this to be more than enough but not so for the X-S1.

I started using the settings below yesterday and the images seem to pop into focus, is this a sign of a bad lens?

Amount: 100
Threshold: 2.0
Radius: 0

Below is an animated GIF showing the difference, I had the camera sharpness set on STD for this shot, nothing else has been adjusted except the sharpness.

Your thoughts on this would be very helpful.
