To me it looks pretty similar to the noise-pattern of the D7000.
Which is pretty useless for astrophoto compared to my D3s.
Banding is btw easily removed with Topaz Denoise, where you can enter the spacing of the banding (typically matching the number of A/D-channels on the sensor).
