Got DA50-200 today and not satisfied, are the much prime better?

I have read all the best of the F 70-210, really lovely color and rendition, but a "certain" softness on digital bodies.

Whereas the modern DA 55 300 is less pleasant in out of focus zones and is marginally less luminous at the tele end, but is the real consumer Pentax telezoom of choice. Compact, lightweight and really good IQ.

Here in EU F 70-... goes used around 150 €, whereas the new DA is about 300 and something.

As shown above teh real "beast" taht could well sit near your other lenses is DA* 200, another league in pricetag also...
