I actually read through this site which helped a bit

http://www.digitalphotographywriter.com/2010/12/pentax-k-5-vs-nikon-d7000-vs-canon-7d.html

So take aways if I can interpret you guys correctly:

Pentax K5:
Pros

  • Small

  • Good low ISO lenses to pick from (for dance)

  • Weather Sealed

  • Fastest continuous drive at 7fps but I hear it doesn't last very long whereas the 7000 can go longer at continuous

  • Sensor shift image stabilization

Cons:

  • Heavy (740g)

  • No good sports lens (for golf)

  • No Eyefi (dunno if that makes a diff)

  • No H.264

  • Expensive

D5100:
Pros
-Small
-Lightest 560g
-Same picture quality as 7000
-Cheap

Cons

  • Not weather sealed

  • Viewfinder not as good as competition

  • Controls not as good

  • Not as good autofocus

D7000
Pros

  • Twin dials

  • Good formfactor

  • Weather sealed

  • Good viewfinder

  • Offers in AF-F in movie

Cons

  • Heavy and big

  • Expensive compared to 5100 (could use money on lens)

Olympus OMD
-Lowsy continuous autofocus (disqualified)
