RAM, CPU for Photoshop CS5 - What are YOU using?

Very few (2 since last week) responses on PC forum, so will try here…

Goal : Collect data from folks who "have been there/are doing that" to help component decision process.

My situation : Planning for a new PC build - Win/7 (64), Photoshop CS5

Need HELP deciding :

• Which CPU to choose

• How much RAM

Typical Photoshop use for me :

• 3-4 (400MB-900MB) images open concurrently. Also do a fair amount of PS-action based batch processing (100-200 images/run).

• No 3D

Video editing: Perhaps in the future, but not at the moment.

Not a gamer.

• What processor do you have? (If you could replace it, with what?)

• How much RAM do you have installed? (How did you decide on this amount?)

• Would you add more RAM if you could? (If yes, how much?)

• Do you have an SSD installed? (details, please, if you do - brand, size, etc.).

• Under what circumstances (any, not just PS) can you envision one needing more than 8 GB of RAM for a Win 7/64 system?

• Other build suggestions, e.g., internal hard drive selection, graphics card or whatever wisdom you care to share.

• If you have time describe your typical use of Photoshop.
