The New Body with only 2 lens combination

I upgraded my D90 to D800 with 14-24mm f2.8G and 50mm f1.8G lens owned.

As travel is concern, I usually shoot Landscape, Portrait, Portrait with Landscape combination and some close-up shots.

I had acquired the fundamental of using manual setting for the exposure and metering from my D90 and hence I am confident in upgrading to D800. In my mind, I wish to have a 24-70mm f2.8 to complete my photography needs. Due to the budget constraints, I only can get one at a time and currently only shoot with 2 lenses. I need some advice regarding such combination. Does these both lens sufficient enough for my current shooting style especially for travelling vacation?
