Tamron 24 - 70 for $1299 anyone?

I'm really interested in the Tamron 24 - 70 VC and I hope the quality is very good. Am I the only one or is there going to be a long queue on April 26th. How long do you think the MSRP will be adhered too and what might the street price go to.
