Also the vast majority of Pentax lenses are screw drive AF. The 18-55mm kit lens I used on my K10D was so noisy, as was the Tamron 70-300. The only screw drive lens I have is the Nikon 50mm F1.8 and that is fairly quiet in comparison.

Using a DSLR in a quiet setting is bad enough with the shutter firing, but having loud chattering AF is just plain embarrassing these days.
