How do you know they weren't the camera's fault?

it amazes me how many people have AF problems on this forum...

If you shoot outdoors like it sounds like you're doing, you'll have fewer AF problems. If you shoot f8 which you may be doing, you'll have fewer AF problems. If you always give the AF several seconds to lock on your subject, you'll have fewer problems.

If you shoot fast action indoor sports at f2-f2.8 under awful lighting, you'll understand why so many people have AF problems on this forum.
