I found a cardinal nest outside one of my window during the storm a few days ago. It snapped one of our trees and one large/thick branch (4-5 inch in diameter) was blown to our house and hit the door making a huge thump,,,,i thought that the corner tree well on the house when I heard the sound and looked out from the smallest window that I thought was the safest even if it broke..... and there was the bird,,,wet, swaying in the wind back and forth guarding her nest....After the storm passed, she left for a while,, perhaps to rest and gather food???? SO I got a peak inside and took the one photo with three eggs....The following day, I noticed that she turns herself all day long incubating her egg. It was SO warm, almost hot this afternoon, I just hope that she does not cook her eggs.
