Nikon 18-55 vs 16-85 ???

I recently purchased D5100 with kit lens and it's taking great pictures. but i'd like to upgrade glass to 16-85. I've read alot of reivews stating it's a great lens (also have 55-300).

Could someone please share their opinions on pic quality, optics vs 18-55.
