Tom is right about the histogram being based on the embedded jpg.

I use faithful picture style when I shoot raw so that the histogram will be as close as possible to an unedited RAW file.

When I do this I find the histogram on the camera ( I use both the luminance and colour histograms) is quite close to the one in Aperture when I view the RAW file.

As far as I know all digital sensors are more sensitive to red than they are to Green and Blue.

Works for me good luck
