85mm PC Lens and 14n Please explain Jay et. al.

A month ago I asked the forum if the 85mm PC lens was compatible and got no answer. Then I looked at the 14n manual and it said nothing about the 85mm PC lens, so I assume it is compatible. Now the "New" manual lists it as incompatible. I need to know how it is not compatible. Is it incompatible because it won't work with all of the features? Or is it incompatible because it's back element is too deep and will hit the mirror.
I don't care if any of the auto exposure features work of if the meter is accurate. I just want to know if I can put it on the camera and push the button and get a good image. Or is it possibly that the angle of the image hitting the sensor is a problem? I'm using this lens lots in studio applications, so speed of use is not an issue. Even if I have to do everything manually, it is important to me to have the use of this lens.
Thanks for your help with this.
