i am pleased to say that after a few tests it is now everything I expected it to be and more. I didn't realise how much the problem through out the focal range and 80mm is now a lot sharper.

Going to stay with Sony now I am happy with my standard lesn and have just brought a second hand A55 as a backup camera for my Alps trip this year

Now which telephoto to get????
