Quick shift for all lenses

I read yesterday in this forum that

"It seems that you can get away with the quick shift by pressing the lens release button. Then you can adjust focus manually with AF engaged"

Well, I checked this that last night with Tamron 70-300 on K100d Super and it works great!

I did not keep the name of the guy that found this or the link or the initial post (sorry), but he is right, it works great. So, the L version of DA-L lenses have one less omission...Great tip!!
