How miserable is Canon!

I have just bought a 7D and 18-135 lens. To my absolute horror there was no lens hood included! Available as an optional "extra" for about $80.00au. Luckily it was purchased only for its studio tether capabilities, so won't need to be outside too much.
MEAN CANON, MEAN. If I do need one I'll get it from ebay, about $3.50 + post
