D800 dynamic range

Am I wrong in my understanding of DR?

I thought it was measure of how much information the camera can capture from dark to light, often expressed in number of stops.

If that understandign is correct, then these images don't show DR. What they show show is low noise in shadow areas and the abiloity of ACR to adjust an image.
