A77 focus problems

Hi all new to posting on the forums but been reading and get great advive so i thought id ask some opinions on my pics , i cant get a pin sharpe shot when i view at 100% ive d/l Gary Friedmann's book and set my camera ive also updated to verionn 1.05 ive tried on a tripod with shutter release and with 2sec timer also hand held with high shutter speeds should i send the camera and lens back, also have the 70-300g lens any help would be great .

Ive also tried birds in flight and get nowhere new the beautiful owl pics that are on here
