p-TTL in K10D and K20D sucks

that is, to put it mildly.
If 100 is perfect exposure every time, p-TTL in K10D and in K20D scores 60. My ancient Canon G5 with Canon 420EX scores 90. Also scoring 90 are Metz 54MZ, Pentax AF540FGZ, Nikon SB 25, ..., all in auto mode.
The problem with p-TTL in K10D and K20D is the inconsistency. That's the worst problem to have because there is no way to compensate. It is just all over the map.
To add insult to injury, Pentax insists on p-TTL and resets to that mode whenever it has a chance, and the flash does not remember the last settings. Auto mode works OK, but you have to jump through hoops to get to auto mode.
I've told you - it sucks.
No, Nikon and Canon, at least the ones I've used, do not have this problem. This is unique to Pentax K10D and K20D (and probably to K100D/K110D/K200/K2000). Models from K7 on are better. I'd give them a score of 85.
