In reply to Camp Freddy, Mar 29, 2012

During the worldwide press conference days, there was a video of an Olympus executive pouring full glasses of water on it and demonstrating it operates fine right after. Pretty much an official claim it's adequately weather sealed.

Though a little concern was raised by Robin Wong about fog build up in the viewfinder (which doesn't necessarily indicate a flaw : there is air in the body trapped by the lens swapping).

Now a few of you own an OMD EM-5, and Robin Wong has flagrantly taken his over a babbling brook, just how waterproof do you think it is?

I think this will be my upgrade now because I take a lot of sailing shots: the 12-50 will be okay to start with, in fact cover a lot of on-water focal legnth I need and I need deep DOF.

So I am talking about a wave breaking on the hull or quay: a couple of kilos of the wet stuff may wash over the camera.

Also - will this be as dust proof as the big FT E5 ?
