Less is more when it comes to retouching, especially for skin. This is especially true when working with high resolution sensors. Try not to use a 100% view to judge the amount of retouching required if you plan to downsample because the final image will be over baked. Think of what happens to high ISO noise when you downsample. The same "averaging" effect will happen on your retouching.
