Verdict on EVF in bright sunlight?
Mar 27, 2012

I'm really keen to hear how A77 and A65 owners are finding the EVF when shooting outdoors in bright sunshine.

I'm close to buying an A65 and Tamron 17-50 as a lightweight landscape photography combo, but I'm a bit spooked by the disappointment i'm hearing here and there regarding the EVF in sunshine.

Are you finding it to be an issue? How are you mitigating it?

(for example, the Imaging Resource reviewer says he ended up using the rear LCD more than the EVF - but isn't the LCD more likely to appear washed out in sunlight than the EVF?)

I do intend to test the EVF myself before buying, but testing outside the front door of the camera store in a shadowed urban environment is not the best approximation of where I'll be using the camera.

Appreciate your insights.

ps. I wear contact lenses or glasses.
