Legacy glass irony

I have the 5n and a bunch of Minolta MD mount lenses from the late 70's and early 80's. I tested the MD Rokkor-x 50mm f1.7, MD Rokkor-x 20mm f2.8, Vivitar 55mm f2.8 1:1 macro, and a Vivitar 28mm f2. The only one that was worth a damn as far as lens bloom in bright light was the 28mm. Wouldn't you know, its diaphram is stuck at max wide and won't stop down. I have a couple of zooms which seem pretty good in that respect but they are big and heavy. Perhaps I will try surgery. The thing is already broke! The coatings on my new e-mount lenses is so much better than the 70's and 80's stuff, it is just hard to believe. For what it's worth.
