I feel that an E-520 sized machine is optimal, and could accommodate everything great about the E5 and the EM5. The only tricky part, I'm guessing, is the viewfinder prism, for which I'd be willing to pay the inevitable premium beyond the EM5 (within reason -- please don't treat us like the captive market we, well, are).

The biggest real feature of the E-3/5, along with the weatherproofing, is the excellent pentaprism and viewfinder. BUT the whole point of the 4:3rds system - and the Pens and OMs before it - is smaller size.

Yes, now that Olympus has smelled the coffee and finally deigned to produce a camera its users have long been clamoring for in the E-M5 (and a magnum opus it is for an mFT), time to right that glaring wrong and upgrade the E-xxx class DSLR with what they've learned.

I've long felt the K-5 is the body the E-30 should have been, weather sealed, great sensor/DR, IBIS and a big and bright OVF all wrapped in a compact body (actually smaller than the E-620 in length).

Completely agree with you here.

Where we differ is I'd prefer the E-620 body, having owned and used both it and the E-510. The E-620 took a little time to grow on me, but I've come to love it. Once one learns how to hold it properly, it's a very stable platform and so compact even while offering a fully articulated LCD.

I actually find it the perfect second body to lug along with my E-5, especially because the E-5 is so big and heavy.

Completely agree with the rest...and wonder if people like Tank would not also, at the end of a day-long hike up and down a mountain, or a complete circuit of Dubrovniks 2km plus ciiy wall on a 35C July day!

Photography is a small voice, at best, but sometimes one photograph, or a group of them, can lure our sense of awareness.
