is perhaps the sharpest 50ish lens out there. The Zuiko 50/2 macro (43rds version) is an incredibly good lens but may not qualify as a 'legacy' lens.

You should expect most 50mm Summicron/ Summiux to perform great. The 40mm Summicron-C is compact, sharp and relatively cheap but has harsh bokeh. Both Zeiss and Voigtländer have good options in this focal length range.

All of the above should perform to modern standards more or less. Many older lens designs can be soft wide open and have lower contrast. They still take great pictures, just visibly different than what modern optics will afford.
