D800 autofocus issue
Mar 26, 2012

Had my d800 for a few days. Underwhelmed by the autofocus. Using a Nikon 24-70 and 70-200 vrII. In moderate light (roughly requiring iso3200), I have a keeper rate of approx 30%. Single focus point on subject's eye is yielding few keepers. Tried various focus modes / metering with little change. Have not tried microfocus adjustment or any of my primes yet. Performance is worse than my previous D7000 by a sizable margin. Focus assist light is on. Anyone else? Also, I promise to post the requisite cat photo when I can actually get one in focus.
