It was just annoying. I had the camera over my shoulder, turned on, and as i walked, i heard the aperture working like there was no tomorrow. I'm sure there's no practical downside to this, I just found it very annoying. And i figured if i'm gonna spend 20 000 NOK (> $3000) on something, it shouldn't be annoying.

If you don't mind a little extra lag, I'm sure power save mode will be more than enough to avoid the issue, but it's not good enough for me.

Honest question. Pinky swear. I'm not trying to criticize your decision, only understand it. That aperture chatter is clearly a big deal for some—perhaps even many—and I'd like to understand why.
