D800 amazon news?

was just told by an amazon customer service rep that they had some D800's show up and they'd already shipped them out to early bird customers.

I have no way of knowing if it's true--but the guy did spend a fair amount of time with me and didn't seem to be just another bored drone.

I've never been involved in a pre-release/new release frenzy before, I've always waited a few months. The D3 had been out almost a year I think before I jumped. I must say--I kind of prefer that way to this way.
