5D3 looks better then D800 when downsized

So I wanted to know what the real difference was between the 5D3 and the D800 in terms of practical photography. I rarely print larger then 20x30, and most of my prints are 8x10 or 11x14.

So I wanted to see the real difference between the two cameras if I resized them to an 8x10 print and compare detail looking at it as I would be looking at an 8x10 print.

(Not pixel peeping at 100% and crying about how the feathers look slightly sharper.)

I didn't let myself know which picture was coming from which camera, and I found the 5D3 was the one I chose as looking "Better" to my eye. Upon pixel peeping at 100% I can see slightly more detail in the D800 image, but my real question is what is the purpose of all those megapixels if your not printing extremely large photos?

Will anyone even notice or care?

What are your thoughts? Which one looks better to you?
