High speed photography - Multiple Flash Help
Mar 21, 2012

I have a sonic delay circuit triggering a wireless flash transmitter. Two Vivitar 285HV are attached to receivers. Each time I capture a fast moving projectile with the flash, I get dual exposures or ghosting. This indicates that one flash is firing before the other. I confirmed this by placing a filter in front of one flash, and saw that one of the superimposed images had that tint to it.

I also tried the same setup using strictly a parallel wired triggered connection. The results were identical.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Is there any way around it? I suspect it just might be a faulty Vivitar 285, but I don't want to buy another one if they all have some sort of "signature delay"
