I was just comparing the New D800 against the D3100 and other Cameras and Noticed no shadow in the hands on the Nikon D3100 blue watch. I loaded up the Pentax 645D and noticed this same lighting. This stays the same with both cameras through the ISO range. How much do you think the obvious lighting difference compromises the final captured images?

The lighting is physically attached to the scene (which sits inside a large box) and never changes. What you see is small variations in the shooting position caused by slightly different equiv focal length lenses (and thus slightly different shooting differences).
