60 GB SSD recommendations?
Mar 20, 2012
|
My new (purchased on 10/2011) hard drive had a partition failure so I'm going to RMA it. What that I've always wanted an smaller SSD drive to run Windows 7 and apps on. I have a few questions.
1. Which 60gb SSD drive do you use or can recommend?
2. Is the TRIM feature a feature of the OS or the hard drive?
3. How can check if my motherboard support AHCI? (I think that's what it's called)
here are some configuration recommendations I found while doing a search
Win7 should enable TRIM by default but check that this is so.
Disable Windows accelerators such as Prefetch, Superfetch.
Disable Indexing.
Disable Hibernate.
Disable Defrag.
Any help would be great!
