I had the first version of the 2.8 quite a few years ago but my copy was quite soft so i sold it. I got an amazing deal on the f4 and it was a great lens though i missed the 2.8 so i sold the f4 and got the version 2 and wow, i love it, so sharp, and yes it is a heavier and larger but it's an amazing lens and i'd never part with it.
