Thanks jb2u. I used 1/1000 because I wanted to freeze the water. I was just lucky enough to get the water I wanted along with the great look of focus on the horse. Interestingly, if you look at the rider, I caught her with her eyes closes.

I like your photos. One thing that both of our photos have in common is that they were shot with the sun behind us rather than behind the subject as the OP did. Admitedly that is only one of his shots and others could easily be better in terms of lighting.

Rolex was really fun to shoot. You just have to move fast to get from one jump area to the next. Interesting subjects and backgrounds to be had. For anyone who loves to photograph horses, I recommend Rolex.
